The VS275 spinning reel sports the body size of the popular VS250 but holds more and heavier line while weighing a little less than 2 ounces more. The innovative big-spool design carries 425 yards of 25-pound-test mono or 350 yards of 80-pound braid. With a 4.75:1 gear ratio and larger spool, the reel takes up 40 inches of line per turn.

Inside and out, the reels are made with precision-machined aircraft-grade aluminum, stainless steel and titanium for strength and corrosion resistance. The drag system is completely sealed, and Van Staal fits the gear case with o-rings and fills it with oil. The VS series reels are available anodized in black, gold or silver. Retail price is $729.
