Van Staal VM150 Spinning Reel

Van Staal makes the VM150 from aluminum with a stainless-steel drive gear, pinion, handle arm, bail wire, bail holder and six ball bearings
SportFishingMag.com

Van Staal’s new VM150 spinning reel impressed Sport Fishing editors in sea trials for being amazingly light yet incredibly solid, with no noticeable play, flex or give anywhere. One editor judged it a “perfect 30- to 40-pound braid reel.” Van Staal makes the VM150 from aluminum with a stainless-steel drive gear, pinion, handle arm, bail wire, bail holder and six ball bearings. The five-carbon-washer drag system delivers 30 to 40 pounds of drag, and the 4.9-to-1 gear ratio gathers 33 inches of line per crank. The VM150 holds 350 yards of 30-pound braid. Cost is $399.
