Quantum says it had such success with its Smoke bait-casting reels that the company released a Smoke spinning-reel series. The reels weigh only 7.5 and 7.8 ounces but feature an all-aluminum body designed to inhibit flexing under heavy loads. Quantum uses a proprietary carbon-stainless ceramic drag system and a nickel-titanium bail wire that comes with a lifetime warranty.
