West Coast live-bait anglers have traditionally ignored spinning reels in favor of conventional saltwater reels. Yet in this video, Shimano product support specialist, Dan Thorburn, explains how West Coast anglers can benefit from today’s spinning tackle, using the largest of Shimano’s newly designed Saragosa saltwater reels, the SRG25000SW, as an example.

Here’s a little bit more about these reels:

The Saragosa Series including six high-line-capacity saltwater models – the SRG5000SW, SRG6000SW, SRG8000SW, SRG10000SW, SRG20000SW and SRG25000SW. Each reel features Shimano’s X-Ship, resulting in increased cranking power to put maximum pressure on big fish. Saragosa reels also have X-Tough drag with cross-carbon washers for smooth stopping power, and both X-Shield and X-Protect to seal the internal components for saltwater corrosion. Each model also features Shimano’s Cam oscillation system to lay line on the spool in a perfect pattern. Suggested retail pricing ranges from $239.99 to $399.99.
