Shimano Tyrnos

Shimano expands its popular Tyrnos trolling-reel series with two new two-speed models - the 20II and 30II - offering a 5.0:1 top speed and a 2.0:1 low gear.

Shimano expands its popular Tyrnos trolling-reel series with two new two-speed models - the 20II and 30II - offering a 5.0:1 top speed and a 2.0:1 low gear. As with their predecessors, the new die-cast-aluminum-framed two-speeds feature specially treated stainless-steel A-RB anti-rust bearings that Shimano says provide up to 10 times more corrosion resistance than standard stainless ball bearings. Set on high speed, the reels retrieve 45 inches of line per crank and on low, 18 inches per crank. While maintaining free-spool, the reels offer 33 pounds of max drag at full and 161¼2 pounds of max drag at strike. Order the optional Harness Fishing Accessory Handle grip for stand-up fishing using a harness. The TYR20II handles 700 yards of 20-pound-test line and up to 330 yards of 40-pound test; the TYR30II can hold 600 yards of 30-pound and up to 350 yards of 50. Cost is $349.99 for the 20II and $359.99 for the 30II. Call 877-577-0600 or visit www.shimano.com.
