For shallow-water jigging, Shimano expanded its Trevala rod series with the new Trevala S - six casting and six spinning models. The company's C4S construction employs high-modulus blanks wrapped with four layers of 90-degree graphite for small-diameter, lightweight rods that are sensitive and powerful. S rods include 6-foot-3-inch light-, medium-light-, medium- and medium-heavy-power rods for 3- to 6-ounce jigs. Also, 6-foot-6-inch rods with super-extra-light and extra-light actions fish 2- and 3-ounce jigs. All rods feature Fuji reel seats and Alconite guides. Cost is $159.99 to $169.99.
