Shimano Torsium Saltwater Reels

Shimano has created its new Torium reels for saltwater anglers, offering them speed, power and corrosion resistance.
125-Reel Strengtrh

Combining speed, power and corrosion resistance, Shimano has created the new Torium reels with saltwater anglers in mind. The High Efficiency Gearing provides a 6.2:1 gear ratio and plenty of torque because the gear box and side plate are stamped into one complete unit. The high speed allows anglers to retrieve up to 46 inches of line per crank. Toriums also feature AR-B (antirust) bearings specially treated with chromium to add 10 times more corrosion resistance than ordinary stainless-steel bearings. Shimano builds the frames of die-cast aluminum and adds an aluminum right side plate and a graphite/aluminum left side plate. The Torium 16 ($169.99) handles 450 yards of 16-pound test or up to 320 yards of 20-pound; the 20 ($179.99) carries 420 yards of 20-pound or 300 of 30; and the Torium 30 ($189.99) will hold 420 yards of 25-pound test and up to 350 of 30.
