Skedaddle 368

For anglers looking to try kayak fishing or who want a lightweight, low-cost alternative or second boat, West Marine offers the Skedaddle Inflatable Kayak. I saw these inflatables at the Miami Boat Show, and while I didn't paddle one, their construction appeared seaworthy. Both the one-person and tandem models feature fixed rigid forms at the bow and stern that reduce flex and function like keel guards against striking rough oyster bars or submerged structure. High-flow military-style valves allow anglers to rapidly inflate the boats with a foot pump. The solo model ($199.99) weighs 19 pounds and carries 250. Its 8-foot-4-inch length can be folded and stuffed into a duffel measuring 29 by 18 by 5 inches. The 12-foot tandem boat ($299.99) weighs 29 pounds, carries 350 and packs to 35 by 19 by 7 inches.
