Hogy Lure Company owner Capt. Mike Hogan designed the new Deep Darter Heads in the field for jigging bluefin tuna. Hogan wanted a head that could be cast to breaking fish but also dropped vertically. The Deep Darters allow anglers to impart both up-down and side-to-side motion to soft baits. The jigs feature 3x or stronger straight-shank hooks and work with all large soft baits, though they were created to pair with 10- and 13inch Hogy Jiggin' Series bodies. Hogy molds a stainless-steel bait keeper into the lead head and says that offers better bait action. The hook point rides in an upturned fashion at the head of the bait.
