Hobie Pro Angler kayak

The extra size makes it more stable and roomy and allows storage for up to eight rods
100-0509gear kayak

Hobie has combined its kayak building and boatbuilding experience to design the new Pro Angler fishing boat. The 13-foot, 8-inch Pro Angler weighs 138 pounds - a good bit larger and heavier than most single-seat kayaks. The extra size makes it more stable and roomy and allows storage for up to eight rods (six horizontal, two vertical) and 13 Plano tackle boxes. The vessel comes with Hobie's patented MirageDrive pedal system; anglers use their feet to pump the pedals, which drive two flippers underneath the boat. A rudder with a lever control provides steering. The boat also features a wide Cool Ride seat; a large, lined forward hatch; a stern storage compartment for an optional livewell or cooler; and a center hatch with a work area, cutting board, drop-in tackle bucket and lure hanger. The Pro Angler comes in moss, dune or yellow and costs $2,199. Call 760-758-9100, or visit www.hobiefishing.com.
