Heritage Kayaks designed its new RedFish model for ? you guessed it, redfishing. Of course, the trout, snook and stripers won't know the difference. Point is: This 14-foot 'yak has all the fishing amenities, including a bow storage hatch to keep tackle within easy reach and a stern tank to hold a bait bucket or cooler. The vessel weighs 66 pounds and also features two recessed rod holders, a paddle leash, padded backrest and four additional cockpit drain plugs. How does it paddle? Take it from editor in chief Doug Olander, who recently test-fished the RedFish. "I found that it paddles easily, and, with the water getting pretty cold, I appreciated the tight-fitting, rubber scupper plugs in the cockpit, enabling me to sit nice and dry as I fished. Also, I liked the two flush-mounted rod holders, well positioned to be within easy reach." Retail price is $749. Call 401-253-3408 or visit
