Anglers hear and read plenty about through-hull underwater lights for boats, but Deep Glow lights attract fish without permanent hull mounting. They may be hung overboard to fish at anchor or while drifting or placed under docks. Available in green, blue, magenta and clear, Deep Glow lights feature a replaceable metal halide bulb encased in a tri-level, custom, injection-molded and waterproof housing. Dock installation involves mounting a ballast enclosure near a 110-volt GFCI outlet and dropping the light in the water. The light automatically falls to the bottom facing upward. Aboard a vessel, plug the unit into a 110-volt outlet and drop the light overboard after securing its cable to a boat cleat. The lights produce more than 10,000 lumens, lighting an area up to 30 feet in diameter, operate to a depth of 20 feet and come with an automatic timer or photocell. Retail price is $399.
