Daiwa adds two new sizes to its Sealine Tournament series, offering two-speed 20- and 30-pound-class big-game reels. Aluminum-framed like the larger 50 and 50W sizes introduced last year, the lighter Sealines can handle mono, Dacron and braids. Daiwa designed the two-speed gear box with fewer moving parts for greater reliability in a saltwater setting. All Sealines feature a sleeved shaft that prevents side load on the spool bearings and increases smoothness. The four ball bearings are made from ultrahard stainless treated for corrosion resistance and sealed. The dual-disc drag system incorporates composite washers that sandwich the metal brake rotor. The SLT20-2SPD ($439.95) features 3.9:1 and 1.8:1 gear ratios, weighs 52.6 ounces, and holds 795 yards of 20-pound test and 530 of 30. The SLT30-2SPD ($459.95) features the same ratios, weighs 55 ounces, and carries 780 yards of 30-pound and 420 yards of 50.
