D.O.A. lure fans may have heard or glimpsed images over the last few years of company founder Mark Nichols testing a big mullet-imitating lure. Always a hands-on designer, Nichols worked on his BFL (Big Fish Lure) for more than a decade. It finally carries his seal of approval. The almost-8-inch-long lure can be fished at the surface or to depths up to 5 feet, using the adjustable, removable bill. The lure also features a single 3x black-nickel VMC treble hook, jointed body and 300-pound through-wire construction, designed to slide out of the bait's body when a fish strikes. Colors include BFL Original (black/silver), BFL Red Head (red/white), BFL Hot Spot (rainbow trout), BLF Trout (seatrout) and BFL Bass. Retail price is $15.99.
