Cape Lookout A-Bomb Chugger

Cape Lookout Lures says its A-Bomb Chugger gets that name from the shape of the lure's head - it looks like a mushroom cloud - and by the enormous amount of smoke it creates in the water.

Cape Lookout Lures says its A-Bomb Chugger gets that name from the shape of the lure's head - it looks like a mushroom cloud - and by the enormous amount of smoke it creates in the water. Pulled at 6 to 8 knots, the chugger puts out a solid trail up to 5 inches in diameter and 6 feet long. The lure swims in an up-and-down fashion, descending about a foot beneath the surface, then popping back up to shoot out spray before diving again. Measuring about 71¼2 inches long, the chugger comes in your choice of 16 patterns of mylar skirting or 16 patterns of nylon hair. It's appropriate to pull for any pelagic from dolphin to blue marlin. Cost is $10.95. Call 919-341-4690 or visit www.capelookoutlures.com.
