Used properly, fish-holding tools can prevent damage to fish intended for release and prevent injury to people as well. To those ends, Cabela's debuts its new Grab & Weigh stainless-steel fishing scale. The tool features an internal calibrated spring and lever/trigger for one-handed operation. The tool's jaws are tipped with a round nose to prevent cutting or puncturing the fish, and the  synthetic cork handle offers the angler a firm grip. When using such tools, remember to keep a thrashing fish's head in the water and don't vertically hang fish you expect to release (hold them horizontally and support their bellies).
