Bluefin USA has introduced two completely new lines of metal- and graphite-body spinning reels - the Edge GC 4000 and GC 5000 and Edge Lite GS 7000 and GS 8000. The smaller 4000 and 5000 feature body, cover and rotor made from high-strength aluminum, with a one-way anti-reverse clutch bearing, six stainless-steel ball bearings and a carbon-composite-weave drag system, offering 17 pounds of drag. Both come with a 5.5-to-1 gear ratio; the 4000 holds 300 yards of 8-pound mono or 15-pound braid, and the 5000 holds 500 yards of 8-pound mono or 15-pound braid. The reels cost $152 and $157. The Edge Lite reels, made from graphite, feature 4.5-to-1 gear ratios and four stainless ball bearings.
