Late winter/early spring fishing often happens in windy, rainy weather. For those conditions, L.L. Bean created its Big Water Rainwear with Gore-Tex. The rugged-looking Gore-Tex ­performance-shell nylon fabric is waterproof and breathable. The jacket ($229) comes with a pliers pocket on the chest, hinged cuffs for blocking water, and hand-warmer pockets kept dry with waterproof zippers. The bibs ($199) feature full side zippers, articulated knees, a chest hand-warmer pocket and zip fly. The machine-washable set comes in dark green and sizes S to XXL and tall L to XXL.
