Steiner has packed the technology and performance of its 7x50 Commander XP binoculars into its new, compact-size 7x30 model. At just under 20 ounces, the 7x30 Commander XP ($549) offers a 392-foot field of view at 1,000 yards, and comes with Steiner’s NANO lens coating that repels water. The compass version ($699, pictured) is equipped with a ranging reticle that’s also illuminated. The NBR rubber coating withstands UV rays and salt water; the binoculars come with an orange flotation strap and Steiner’s 30-year limited warranty.
