To keep cobia alive for potential release during tournaments and for conservation purposes, Florida Panhandle angler John Boggs developed the Cobia Tube. The vinyl bag comes in two sizes — 5-feet long for cobia to 75 pounds and 6-feet long for ling to 150. A saltwater washdown or livewell pump attached to a hose-bib connection floods the front end of the bag. The angler slips the fish into the back end, and then fastens it with an attached buckle strap. The cinched end permits water to flow out and into the boat’s scuppers. Prices are $169 and $189.
