Lowrance designed the new fixed-mount, Link-5 Class D DSC VHF ($179) radio for cost-conscious consumers. The unit features a 1‑by‑1.8‑inch LCD display for GPS lat/lon data, a microphone with six quick keys, an extra-large channel-16 key and a rotary knob for channel changing. The radio logs up to 10 distress calls and 20 individual DSC calls, and offers dual and triwatch modes. It can store 20 user-programmable names with MMSI numbers.
