Navico Broadband 4G Radar

Navico (parent company to Lowrance and Simrad Yachting) has introduced Broadband 4G Radar.

Building on the 2009 release of BR24 broadband radar followed by the debut of 3G radar in early 2011, Navico (parent company to Lowrance and Simrad Yachting) has introduced Broadband 4G Radar. 4G — the next-generation, solid-state Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (18-inch) radome — delivers 50 percent greater range than its predecessor (36 nm rather than 24 nm) and features beam-sharpening technology that dials in resolution equivalent to a three-and-a-half-foot open array, Navico says. 4G also offers dual-range radar returns that can be overlaid onto maps. Compatible with Lowrance HDS and Simrad NSO, NSE and NSS units, 4G costs $1,899 to $2,299. Call 800-661-3983, or visit www.lowrance.com or www.simrad-yachting.com.
