Knowing that anglers often choose athletic shoes that offer the cushioning preferred by runners, Sperry researched those products and found they may actually amplify stress on the water by making wearers less stable. ASV shoes, which come in athletic styles for women and athletic and boat-shoe styles for men, use a proprietary midsole that absorbs and disperses impact.
