Albury Brothers’ newest 23 is built on the same hull as its original time-tested predecessor, with a low center of gravity to convey a sense of safety and security. The full bow and splash well aft give the center-console expansive interior space.
The boat’s bottom laminate is hand-laid solid glass more than 1-inch thick. Its stringers are fully glassed into the boat from stem to transom, chine to keel, and are filled with foam.
Albury says the variable-V hull, with 17 degrees of deadrise at the transom, allows the boat to plane at 18 to 20 mph, and then maintain a level ride in the low 20s. Wide open, the vessel can top 50 mph.
At a price of $103,745, this Bay & Bluewater Edition comes loaded with a folding, dual-station, Key West-style hardtop, twin livewells, in-deck fish box, trolling motor, shallow-water anchor, trim tabs, jack plate, electric-reel outlets and outriggers, as well as a 300 hp outboard.
The 3,100-pound hull holds 97 gallons of fuel, and can be powered with single or twin outboards.
