Jumping ahead of the curve, Minn Kota has designed a new style of trim tabs that the company says will provide up to 50 percent more lift compared with standard straight tabs. The new tabs are made from a high-performance structural-grade composite and engineered into a curved wing design that increases the amount of surface area in contact with the water.

Minn Kota's electro-mechanical actuators feature a 12-volt motor and gear system sealed inside each housing for precise, quiet operation. Boaters can choose a soft-touch rocker switch with up/down buttons or a position-indicator switch that adds LEDs to display tab position.

Tabs will be offered in front-to-back lengths of 9 and 12 inches and side-to-side widths of 9, 12 and 18 inches. Boaters may also choose between standard-stroke actuators for a minimum transom height of 15 inches and short-stroke for a minimum transom height of 11 inches. Retail price for the tab system is $559.99 to $609.99.
