Mar 5, 2008

Prospec Electronics AM/FM/CD
Designed specifically for marine use, Prospec's JBL MR140 AM/FM/CD Receiver is a 4-channel-by-45-watt stereo and AM/FM receiver equipped with an auxiliary input for plugging in an iPod, MP3 player, satellite radio or DVD. It comes wired remote-ready with built-in Electronic Shock Protection and spins a disc faster than normal while storing the music ahead of time, virtually eliminating skipping on choppy water. Circuit boards are encapsulated in a PUC moisture coating that dramatically increases reliability. Cost is $169.95.

Another nifty product is the company's Black-Box unit, the JBL MBB3 Black Box. It features iPod, USB 2.0 and aux-in connections, a built-in hard drive (1GB storage), a rustproof, splash-resistant housing, and a Sirius-ready, 4-channel-by-45-watt AM/FM stereo (CD changer optional). Available at Cabelas, Overton's and Boater's World, the units cost  $349.95. Contact Prospec Electronics at www.prospecelectronics.com.
