As consumers become not only familiar but also addicted to touch screens, we see that technology flood the other areas of our lives. In late March, Simrad rolled out its new NSS touchscreen multifunction displays to a global group of boating/fishing writers in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The NSS combines touchscreen technology with a dial and a few key buttons (as does Raymarine with its HybridTouch; most Garmins use primarily touch) to offer multiple options to mariners who may deal with calm inshore or rough offshore conditions.
