Most walkarounds require that you step up onto a side deck, then hold on for dear life as you try to access the bow with a rod (attached to a fish) in one hand. The Strike 37 has a deep, center-console-like walkaround space, yet a spacious cabin affords realistic belowdecks accommodations, too. The remarkably spacious cabin offers more than 61¼2 feet of headroom, along with air conditioning, berths for five adults, a galley with microwave and refrigerator, and a full stand-up head and shower.

Despite the belowdecks space, the Strike 37 qualifies as being as easy to fish as an express or a center console.

The bridge deck sports a single captain’s chair, plus bench seating just aft on both sides, some of which also houses a tackle center, a bait station and an ice cooler. The cockpit comes with a large fish box and a transom livewell.

Those who like to fish (or transit) shallow areas like the Bahamas or any shoal areas will particularly appreciate the propeller pockets that shorten the draft while increasing fuel efficiency via a straighter shaft angle. Additional economies stem from multiple running strakes.

Our experience has shown this boat to be a dry, soft ride. It’s fast and stable as well, thanks to a 54-degree entry and deep, 23-degree transom deadrise combined with a relatively wide 13-foot beam. With the larger of two power choices, this 37 will hit speeds in excess of 40 knots. At 18,000 pounds, it would even make an excellent fishing boat if you wanted a budget-minded mothership operation.

Strike has a reputation for low gunwales around the cockpit in its smaller boats. We liked that the gunwales on the 37 stand slightly higher. All Strikes are semi-custom-built and sold factory direct to allow each customer to outfit the boat to meet his needs.
