Suzuki DF60A 3-Cylinder Outboard

The Suzuki 3-Cylinder Outboard qualifies as the lightest in its class, according to Suzuki

Suzuki Marine says its new in-line, 3-cylinder outboard, available with a 20-inch shaft and optional tiller handle kit, offers great versatility for a variety of small boats. Features found in the DF60A include Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC), four valves per cylinder and 941-cc displacement. Because camshafts control each of the 12 valves, Suzuki has eliminated the rocker arms (and their need for periodic adjustment). At 229 pounds, this 60 qualifies as the lightest in its class, according to Suzuki. It incorporates advanced multipoint, sequential electronic fuel injection, Lean Burn Control Technology and an Easy Start System to provide smooth starts, crisp acceleration and reduced emissions. The Suzuki DF60A meets 2010 EPA exhaust-emissions standards and carries a CARB three-star rating. Suzuki's in-house testing claims an approximate 50 percent improvement on the distance the engine runs on a gallon of fuel at trolling and cruising speeds - and a 30 percent increase at full throttle. Other innovations include a maintenance-free, self-adjusting, oil-bathed timing chain and an adjustable tilt-limit system that protects boats from possible damage when the outboard is tilted. The DF60A costs $8,794. Call 714-996-7040, or visit www.suzuki.com.
