Mercury Marine says its Verado 250 Pro FourStroke should please anglers who want a more advanced, refined and enjoyable ride from a performance engine. Built for smaller vessels, including bay boats, the Verado 250 Pro combines the acceleration and speed of the Pro series engines with the supercharged technology of Verado, which offers precise control over fueling strategy and air intake. Mercury recommends running 91-octane fuel in the Verado 250 Pro but says it will handle 87-octane blends without compromising reliability or warranty. Available with a 20- or 25-inch shaft ($19,185 and $19,300), the new engine weighs 635 pounds, and features digital throttle and shift, and electro-hydraulic power steering.
