Honda BF250

The single-overhead camshaft V6 four-stroke also comes with Honda’s BLAST System

The 3.6-liter Honda BF250 — now the company’s flagship outboard — incorporates an all-new gear case and a system called Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC), first introduced in the Acura NSX sports car. VTEC varies the lift and duration of the intake-valve opening to improve performance at all rpm levels. The single-overhead camshaft V6 four-stroke also comes with Honda’s BLAST System for improved hole shot, an adjustable idling-charge system to boost amperage at idle, Lean Burn Control and a marine directair, dualcircuit induction system for better cooling. The BF250 weighs 600 to 622 pounds; suggested retail cost is $24,000 to $25,000. Visit www.hondamarine.com.
