You can probably think of a dozen good reasons not to plan an serious fishing vacation now. I suspect most of 'em probably aren't good enough to outweigh the reasons to do it. I know you have all sorts of obligations to yourself, your family, your job. Who doesn't? I know it's hard to justify spending big bucks on your passion these days. In all the rhetoric surrounding the unbelievably contentious issue of red snapper management these days, with devastating seasonal/bag restrictions and even complete closures haunting the future of major coastal sport fisheries Texas to Georgia, there's been one element glaringly missing: alternative solutions that might manage to satisfy federal law while not obliterating entire fisheries.
