As promised in my Feb. 10 blog, I’m circling back to offer more detail on the new Vesper WatchMate Vision, which debuted to the public at the Miami International Boat Show, Feb. 15-20. In fact, not only did Vesper Marine display the Vision for show visitors, the product also won an innovation award in the consumer safety equipment category from the National Marine Manufacturers Association and Boating Writers International. Furuno has taken its TimeZero technology and employed it within the industry's first multiple-touch multifunction display -- the NavNet TZtouch. Multiple touch means users can control the touchscreen much like a smartphone display with two-finger gestures like pinch-to-zoom. Furuno also added a rotary knob to make adjustments in rough sea conditions where touching the screen could be difficult. Customizing windows to show sounder, plotter, radar and other data is simple with drag-and-drop positioning. Read More
