If anything could even come close to being as fun as fishing, it would have to be attending the annual International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades — ICAST. Billed as the world’s largest sport-fishing trade show, ICAST features saltwater and freshwater tackle manufacturers from all over the country. They come to showcase new products for the coming year and to sell to distributors from around the world.
Because this is a business show, it is not open to the public. But fishing-media members are invited so we can report back to you and share the cool new stuff we see. This year’s event opens Tuesday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando and runs through Friday.
In the July/August issue of Sport Fishing, we introduced you to a few of the products ICAST exhibitors will debut, in our sneak preview. But rest assured, there will be much more.
SF’s editors plan to post blogs and photos on our website and tweet to our Twitter followers at @SportFishingMag. Our tweets will also post to our Facebook page. Right now, content on our website’s ICAST page comes from last year’s show. But watch for updates starting Tuesday.
