Quantum has unveiled an entire line of rods and reels
Òperformance tunedÓ for saltwater fishing. The PT
line includes the top-of-the-mark Cabo product family with its
baitcast, levelwind, conventional trolling and spinning reels and
rods for inshore, nearshore and offshore fishing. Cabo spinning
reels are coated with Saltgard, a finish with six layers of
corrosion protection. The reels also feature a solid one-piece
aluminum frame and sidecover, multistack Magnum Ceramic Drag system
and the TiMAG Salt bail system, an oversize bail wire made of
nickel titanium that's flexible and won't bend out of shape. The
CSP30PTS (120 to 250 yards of 6- to 10-pound test) and the CSP40PTS
(200 to 270 yards of 8- to 12-pound test) employ eight bearings,
offer 5.2:1 gear ratios and retail for $189.95. The CSP50PTS (170
to 260 yards of 10- to 14-pound test) and CSP60PTS (210 to 260
yards of 12- to 20-pound test) use nine bearings, offer 4.9:1 gear
ratios and cost $199.95. Cabo PT rods range in price from $169.95
to $289.95. Four baitcasters round out the Cabo family with two
