Anglers in the States can now easily acquire a devilishly good lure coming up from Down Under. Semtex lures, manufactured by master jig builder Steve Badman at Demon Jigs, prove deadly on tuna, wahoo, king mackerel and other pelagics. A stainless-steel spinner blade flashes and calls in fish from a distance, then the seductively moving, Mylar-covered body proves too much to resist. The tail conceals a wire-rigged stinger hook that turns short strikes into solid hookups. Semtex lures come in two sizes. The 3-ounce model measures 8 inches and retails for $23; the 8-ounce version measures 11 inches and costs $31.
