Snook Doggy Dog

Even though the season is closed, Snook are still a great fish to target!

This past week there has been some great reports of Snook fishing in Flamingo and the Everglades National Park! My Anglers caught a total of 116 in three days of fishing around Cape Sable to Shark River. Using a DOA Hook and a light color DOA C.A.L. Shad casting the edges seam to work the best, I like to rig with 20 Lb. Power Pro to horse the stripped pig out of the mangroves. The west wind has slowed the Tarpon bite down some this week, but rest assured the wind will come around and the silver beast will be in the air again! Big schools of Bonefish have been seen in the morning and late afternoon all week long on the Atlantic side of the Keys, the blue tailed Ghost have been charging shrimp and small Flies for some exciting action! That all from the shallow grass, Capt. Ted Benbow
