Warm Central Florida Winter

Shallow Water Fishing

With spring approaching the winter here has no been really truly been felt yet. We here in the East Central Florida area have been experiencing an unusually warm winter. On top of this the past several weeks the water levels here on the Mosquito Lagoon have been the lowest in years. With this in mind USE CAUTION out here.

Navigate your area wisely and it shall pay off. Reds have been holding in GREAT numbers all over the area. You may want to go a bit early though. There will be a battle for spots because of less access to the regular fishing spots. Use extreme stealth while fishing. The water is so clear that fish can see you well before you see them. I have been getting good numbers of fish on board by using Gulps, either in the white or new penny color. Live shrimp have been working well too.
