March Fishing Report For Charleston SC

Fly/Spin Fishing with Capt Chris Wilson Finaddict Charters

Well its March now and Springs around the corner. The Redfish are still in Large schools on the flats and are very active do to rising water temps.Fly Anglers should continue to have Great Sight fishing for the next month with the begining of tailing tides season in April.Spin Anglers this is a good time for some topwater action with the schools of mullets coming back out on the Flats.Anglers throwing Zara spooks and Mirrolure Top pups can have great action. This is a cool bite to see a 10lb Redfish blow up on a Topwater Plug.

The Speckle Trout bite has pick up still using Doa shrimps and Cal baits fished slow rite above the bottom on the slower tides. The little Menhadens have show up in the Harbour and Rivers around Charleston and are Great baits for the Larger Speckle Trout that will move in by the end of the month to spawn.

Sheaphead and Blackdrums are on the inshore wrecks and jetties and the bait of choice is Fiddlers crabs and fresh shrimp. The shad run has kick off with good catches on the lakes and Tail race canal. These are great acrobatic gamesters on Ultra Light Tackle and Fly outfits.
