The Redfish bite on the flats has been as good as gets around the Charleston area and should stay this for the next few months with the warming air/water temps.Soft plastics baits like jerk baits rigged on flutter hooks and small shad tails jigs are working are still getting good action and with some top-water action on just about any walk the dog hard baits. As for fishing with bait this time of the year you can't beat a half of blue crab or cut mullet rigged for fishing on the bottom.
Speckle trout should start to move out of their winter hiding spots and start to move back into creeks and inlets around the oyster beds and deeper holes. It seems like live baits work the best at this time of the year shrimp and mud minnows either fish under a float or on the bottom on a carolina rig work the best.Top-water action also should get better with the warmer water temps with best action being early morning and late afternoon.
