Penn Torque 100 (Lever Drag)
Penn introduced its lever-drag Torque 300 last year to great fanfare. This year, the company debuts the 100 - a mighty mini that holds 375 yards of 30-pound braid (420 yards of 12-pound mono). The 28.8-ounce TRQ100LD is made of forged and machined aluminum, which creates a strong, lightweight package. It features four stainless-steel ball bearings and a 6.2-to-1 gear ratio.
The adjustable HT-100 Versa Drag System allows anglers to fine-tune strike drag to a variety of settings - from less than 8 pounds to more than 20. Versa Drag employs five drag surfaces rather than the typical two. More drag surface means reduced force and less binding.
