Penn International Torque LT300 (Lever-Drag)
Last year saw the introduction of Penn's International Torque star-drag reel, which won the title of "Best Saltwater Reel" at ICAST. Penn returned this year with an equally impressive lever-drag Torque - the LT300.
The reel's new large-diameter Versa-Drag system incorporates five active drag surfaces for a smooth 32 pounds of max drag with minimal force exerted on the reel. The drag also totally disengages when in free spool for better casting and drop-back.
The 41.4-ounce metal body includes oversized stainless-steel gears and power handle, six ball bearings and a 6.3:1 gear ratio to retrieve 48 inches of line per handle turn.
The Torque lever-drag holds 360 yards of 30-pound mono or 360 yards of 80-pound braid. Retail cost is $599.99.
